Membership

Laramie Plains Federal Credit Union serves all residents of Albany County and Carbon County in Wyoming and Jackson County in Colorado with a wide array of financial services. A credit union is a financial cooperative that is owned by its members. At Laramie Plains Federal Credit Union, our members are the purpose of our work. Our Board of Directors are volunteers elected by our members at our annual meeting.

The field of membership shall be limited to those having the following common bond:

  • Persons who live in Albany County and Carbon County, Wyoming and Jackson County, Colorado.
  • Persons who regularly work, worship, attend school, perform volunteer services, or participate in associations headquartered in Albany County and Carbon County, Wyoming and Jackson County, Colorado.
  • Persons participating in programs to alleviate poverty or distress which are located in Albany County and Carbon County, Wyoming and Jackson County, Colorado.
  • Incorporated and unincorporated organizations located in Albany County and Carbon County, Wyoming and Jackson County, Colorado, or maintaining a facility in Albany County and Carbon County, Wyoming and Jackson County, Colorado; Albany County and Carbon County, Wyoming and Jackson County, Colorado meets the low-income definition of Part 701.34 of the National Credit Union Administration Rules and Regulations;
  • Members of record of the credit union as of August 18, 1998;
  • Spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership of this credit union;
  • Employees of this credit union;
  • Members of their immediate families;
  • and organizations of such persons.

Become a Member

To apply for membership at Laramie Plains Federal Credit Union, please come into the credit union at 352 N Fourth St., Laramie, Wyoming. You will need a government issued form of picture I.D. (i.e. driver's license, etc.). The minimum deposit for a share (savings) account is $5.00. A minimum of $50.00 is required to open a share draft (checking) account.
